Step 2: Lien
Alberta, a builders' lien must be registered at the Land Titles Office within 45 days after the work is completed or the materials supplied. Oilfield claims must be filed within 90 days.
Step 3: Foreclosure
Within 180 days of lien filing or within 30 days from the day that the registered lienholder is served with the notice to commence, the lien ceases to exist.
