Arkansas Public Time Frames

Step 1: Bond Claim

There is no statutory provision; review bond information. State Highway and Transportation Department Contracts are exempt from bond requirements.

Step 2: Suit Against Bond

Within 6 months of final payment unless the project requires Arkansas State Building Services approval of the final payment on the state contract. In that case, the suit must be filed within 12 months of the date that Arkansas State Building Services approves final payment.

Bond Bits

Contracts less than $35,000 are excluded from bond requirements.
Department of Transportation contracts are exempt from bonding requirements.
Amount of Bond: 100% of contract price.
P3 projects 2017 SB 651 signed: Law requiring Arkansas Economic Development Commission and Development Finance Authority to issue rules governing these types of projects.
Until finalized payment assurances are unknown.
