Statute

Step 1: Notice
  • Non-Statutory: NACM recommends sending a non-statutory notice within 45 days of last furnishing.

Step 2: Lien
  • In British Columbia a lien must be filed within 45 days after the issuance of the Certificate of Completion, or if not applicable, within 45 days after completion, abandonment or termination of the Head Contract, or else the claim will be invalid.

Step 3: Foreclosure
  • Within 1 year from the date of lien filing or within 21 days of notice to commence.
