Step 2: Lien
Multi-family or single family residence, including apartment buildings: Serve 15-day Notice of Intent to Lien prior recording a lien. SeeSpeed Bumps.
Commercial: within 90 days after the date on which thelatest of the following occurs:
Completion of project improvement
Last delivery of material or work
Notice of Completion being recorded by owner: File lien within 40 days of the recordin
Serve lien on owner within 30 days of recording lien.
Step 3: Foreclosure
After 30 days but within 6 months after the lien is recorded, unless an “extension agreement” extending the period to 1 year is recorded.
