Step 1: Notice
  • Laborers – No requirement
  • Subcontractors and Suppliers - Notify contractor 30 days prior to suit

Step 2: Suit Against Bond
  • After 30 days from the date of mailing of notice to the contractor and within 6 months after final acceptance of the work by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Bond Bits

  • Contracts Excluded: No special statutory provision.
  • Amount of Bond: 50% of contract price
