Step 1: Bond Claim
  • Non-Highway Projects: Obtain a copy of the bond to determine how to claim.  See Speed Bumps.
  • Highway Projects: A sworn statement of claim must be given to the secretary of the agency of transportation within 90 days of final acceptance of project or within 90 days of the date taxes are due to the commissioner of employment and training

Step 2: Suit Against Bond
  • Highway Projects: Suit must be filed within 1 year of the filing of claims.

Bond Bits

  • Highway contracts less then $100,000 and non-highway projects are excluded from bond requirements.
